Getting Started

Welcome to ShotCut! We’re excited to have you – let’s unleash your own brand of creativity with millions of users worldwide.
To get started with ShotCut Glitch Video Maker app:
Tap ‘Create’ from the Home Page and select the preferred aspect ratio for your new video.
Select photos and videos you’d like to import for your project.
This is where you let your creativity run free. Explore the various tools and features of the app to create stunning, trendy and aesthetically-pleasing videos in minutes!
As our app is currently still in its Beta stage, at this time, all videos will not be saved once you have exited the app.

We know your videos are very special and meaningful to you. Please know that the ShotCut Team is working hard towards a better solution. In the meantime, to avoid losing your video drafts, please ensure that:
• You start and finish a video project in the same sitting
• You export all edited videos once you have finished editing
• Leave the app open if you’d like to come back to it – do not close the app
Do note that you will not be able to re-edit videos once they are saved.
As our app is currently still in its Beta stage, ShotCut Glitch Video Maker is free to use for all. We value your feedback on the User Experience and User Interface as we improve the app for future versions to come, so please share them generously with us here!
We look forward to introducing premium and paid features in the future.

How to Use

Create stunning videos easily with ShotCut! To add videos and start on your new project,

• Open ShotCut Glitch Video Maker
• Tap on ‘+Create’ button on the Home Screen
• Select the desired aspect ratio of this project according to different social media platforms
• Tap on the drop down list ‘≣’ on the top left to select album
• Choose ‘Video’ or ‘Photo’ column according to your needs
• Tap on the video/photo that you would like to include in the project – you may pick multiple videos/photo at once!
• Your selected videos/photos will be included at the lower bar of the page – to rearrange the order of the videos/photos, long press on the file and drag accordingly
• Tap ‘Next’
• Selected Videos/Photo are successfully added into project”
To add more media to your existing project,
• Scroll on the time track to locate the time position where you would like to add new video clip
• Tap on ‘Editor ≣’ button to activate the video editing toolbar
• Tap on ‘Add ⊞’ button
• Tap on the drop down list ‘≣’ on the top left to select album
• Choose ‘Video’ or ‘Photo’ column according to your needs
• Tap on the video/photo that you would like to include in the project – you may pick multiple videos/photo at once!
• Your selected videos/photos will be included at the lower bar of the page – to rearrange the order of the videos/photos, long press on the file and drag accordingly
• Tap ‘Next’
• Selected videos/photos are successfully added into project
To set duration of your videos
• Scroll on the time track to search for the video that you would like to edit
• Tap on the specific video that you would like to edit. The selected video will be highlighted in yellow on the time track
• Long press and drag on the ‘>’ symbol on the highlighted yellow video frame to adjust the duration of the video clip
• Let go when the video duration reached the desired time position.
1. Scroll on the time track to search for the video that you would like to delete from the project.
2. Tap on that particular video to activate the video editing toolbar, the video will be highlighted in a yellow frame on the video track.
3. Scroll left on the video editing toolbar to locate the “Delete ≣” button on the video editing bar.
4. Tap on the “Delete ≣” button.
5. Selected Video is successfully deleted.
1. Scroll on the time track to search for the video that you would like to adjust its speed.
2. Tap on that particular video to activate the video editing toolbar, the video will be highlighted in a yellow frame on the video track.
3. Tap on the “Speed ≣” button on the video editing bar. Speed adjusting bar is activated automatically.
4. Scroll Right to reduce the speed (Minimum 0.1x) or scroll left to increase the speed (Maximum 8.0x).
5. The speed of the particular video is changed successfully.
1. Scroll on the time track to search for the video that you would like to rotate its direction.
2. Tap on that particular video to activate the video editing toolbar, the video will be highlighted in a yellow frame on the video track.
3. Tap on the “Rotate ⟳” button on the video editing bar. The video is rotate 90° clockwise by default.
4. Tap the “Rotate ⟳” button repeatedly to reach the desired position.
1. Scroll on the time track to search for the video that you would like to trim.
2. Tap on that particular video to activate the video editing toolbar, the video will be highlighted in a yellow frame on the video track.
3. Scroll left and right on the video track to locate the time position that you would like to trim it off.
4. Tap on the “Split” button on the video editing bar to separate the unwanted part.
5. Tap on the unwanted portion that is split and tap “Delete ≣” button.
6. Selected Video is successfully trimmed.”
1. Scroll on the time track to search for the video that you would like to duplicate.
2. Tap on that particular video to activate the video editing toolbar, the video will be highlighted in a yellow frame on the video track.
3. Tap on the “Duplicate” button on the video editing bar.
4. Selected video is successfully duplicated.
5. The duplicated video is placed next to original clip by default.
1. Scroll on the time track to locate the time position where you would like to add visual effects.
2. Tap on the “VFX” button on the function toolbar to activate the visual effect toolbar.
3. Scroll left to choose your favourite visual effect.
4. Long press the chosen VFX to add into your project.
5. Selected visual effect is successfully added to the video.
1. Scroll on the time track to search for the VFX that you would like to edit.
2. Tap on the Turquoise “≣”symbol button above the video track to select the VFX. The selected VFX will be highlighted in turquoise frame on the time track.
3. Long press and drag on the “>” symbol on the highlighted turquoise VFX frame to adjust the duration of the VFX.
4. Let go when the text duration reached the desired time position. 
1. Scroll on the time track to search for the VFX that you would like to delete.
2. Tap on the Turquoise “≣”symbol button above the video track to select the VFX. The VFX chosen will be highlighted in turquoise frame on the time track.
3. Tap on the “Delete ≣” button top right corner of the time track.
4. Selected VFX is successfully deleted.
1. Scroll on the time track to locate the time position where you would like to add text.
2. Tap on the “Text” button on the function toolbar to activate the Text editing toolbar.
3. Tap on “Keyboard” button to add your text by typing it into the text bar.
4. Tap on “Style” button on the Text editing Toolbar to change text font.
5. Tap on “Color” button on the Text editing Toolbar to change text color.
6. Tap on “≣” when you are done editing.
7. Text is successfully added to the video.
1. Scroll on the time track to search for the text that you would like to edit.
2. Tap on the purple “T symbol” button above the video track to select the text.
3. Tap on text displayed on the video screen.
4. Drag the text box with one finger to adjust the position on the screen.
5. Pinch the textbox with two fingers to rotate or zoom the text.
6. Tap on “≣” when you are done editing.
7. Text is successfully edited
1. Scroll on the time track to search for the text that you would like to edit.
2. Tap on the purple “T symbol” button above the video track to select the text. The selected text will be highlighted in purple frame on the time track.
3. Long press and drag on the “>” symbol on the highlighted purple text frame to adjust the duration of the text.
4. Let go when the text duration reached the desired time position. 
1. Scroll on the time track to search for the text that you would like to edit.
2. Tap on the purple “T symbol” button above the video track to select the text. The selected text will be highlighted in purple frame on the time track.
3. Tap on the “Copy” button on the text editing toolbar.
4. Selected text is successfully duplicated.
5. The duplicated text is placed next to original text by default.

1. Scroll on the time track to search for the video that you would like to rotate its direction.
2. Tap on that particular video. The selected video will be highlighted in a yellow frame on the time track.
3. Tap on the “Mute” button to mute the sound from the original video clip.
Note: Original sound of the video clip is included into the project by default. You will only need to perform “unmute” if you’ve previously muted it.
1. Scroll on the time track to locate the time position where you would like to add music.
2. Tap on the “Music” button on the function toolbar to activate the Music editing toolbar.
3. Tap on “Add” button on the music editing toolbar to add music into project.
4. Tap on “Volume” button on the music editing to increase or reduce the volume of music.
5. Tap on “Fade” button on the music editing Toolbar; you can choose “Fade in” for beginning of the clip, or “Fade out” at the end of the end.
6. Tap on “” when you are done editing.
7. Text is successfully added to the video.
Note: Currently only default music available in the app can be added into project. We hope to include “Upload your own music” in future versions of the app. Let us know your thoughts!
Email Us
1. Scroll on the video track to search for the music that you would like to edit.
2. Tap on the selected music track, it will be highlighted in white frame on the time track.
3. Long press and drag on the “>” symbol on the highlighted white music frame to adjust the duration of the text.
4. Let go when the text duration reached the desired time position.
